Samaritans has a vital role in society, supporting people who are struggling to cope. Through our partnership we’re aiming to raise £250,000 by 2020 to help Samaritans to be there when it matters.

About Samaritans

With more than 20,000 trained volunteers in 201 branches, Samaritans is available round the clock, every single day of the year. They listen without judgement and offer the support needed to allow people to explore their feelings and to find their own way in a safe and secure environment.

Why we've partnered

The reasons for people getting in touch with Samaritans are varied and you don’t need to be suicidal to contact Samaritans. We can all go through difficult times and these issues affect the lives of our members, colleagues, and our communities.

Every 6 seconds someone contacts Samaritans and in 2016 their volunteers responded to more than 5.7 million calls for help#.

People are also choosing to talk to its volunteers in different ways. The number of people contacting Samaritans by text and email increased by more than a quarter from around 683,000 in 2016 to 868,000 in 2017#.

The money we raise, with the help of our members, will support Samaritans to continue to provide and improve its services in the future.
