Online Approval in Principle

WARNING: The mortgaged property (which may be your home) may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.

What to expect

Getting an Approval in Principle involves us checking your details against our lending criteria and using credit reference agencies to assess your credit score. At this stage, this ‘soft’ credit check won’t affect your credit rating or your ability to borrow in future.

When you start your application on the next page, please take a couple of minutes to read the information provided and the Initial Disclosure Document (IDD). You can also read the Initial Disclosure Document here (PDF). You’ll find the tick box to confirm you’ve read everything in the ‘Mortgage Advice’ Section on the online application form.

Things to look out for:

  • The online form we’ll ask you to complete to get your Approval in Principle is part of our full ‘Mortgage Application’ online form. But don’t worry, by applying just for an Approval in Principle you’re not committing to making a full application with us.
  • If you’re successful with your Approval in Principle, you can either ‘Save and exit’ and come back later, or ‘Save and continue’ if you want to go ahead with a full mortgage application straight away.

Ready to apply?

Once you’re happy with the information above, you can go ahead and apply for an Approval in Principle.
