Three Peaks challenge teams raise more than £5,000

An intrepid band of climbers from our Risk and Finance teams successfully tackled the Yorkshire Three Peaks to raise a combined £5,500 for charity.

The 27 colleagues walked 25 miles, with a combined climb of 2,153m, up the mountains of Pen-y-Ghent (694m), Whernside (736m) and Ingleborough (723m).

The mutual’s Finance team raised £2,000 for Macmillan and Mind - including £690 in matched funding from Leeds Building Society.

The Risk department raised £3,500 for Candlelighters, with £1,000 matched funding from the Society.

The fundraising efforts of both the teams were supported by their colleagues back at Head Office through bake sales and sweepstakes.
